Welcome to The Tunbridge Wells Men's Triples League Web Site League Report For Thursday 28th August 2008 CALVERLEY AMASS RECORD POINTS Calverley finished the season with 34-27 win over Bidborough A, S. Summers lost to B. Liddall 13-18 but T. Larkin held his triple together to clinch a fine 21-9 win against N. Waller’s triple, with Calverley picking up four points and finishing with 68 points, possible the highest amassed points in the leagues history, they also only lost one match out of fourteen. Second place Groombridge were at home and playing Southborough B, needing only four points to clinch runners-up. Southborough fielding only one triple gave the advantage of two points to Groombridge, C. Myers triple needed to perform well to clinch the match, Southborough’s triple skipped by K. Smith fought well coming out winners 20-18, Groombridge winning 38-20 to pick up four points and well deserved runners-up place for their first season in the division. Southborough finish fifth. Speldhurst B had already played their match against Bayham & Lamberhurst B early in the season, Speldhurst finish fourth while Bayham & Lamberhurst end their season in sixth. The match between Wadhurst B and Bidborough B finished as a draw three points each after the game was abandoned due to flooded green, Bidborough finished bottom and Wadhurst took third place.
