TUNBRIDGE WELLS TRIPLES LEAGUE – RULES

Revised 14th FEB. 2006 – (rule 14 added)

1.

The League shall be known as The Tunbridge Wells Men’s Triples League.

2.

The Executive Committee shall consist of a Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary & Treasurer. All to be elected annually at the AGM. All matters and disputes concerning the said League shall be dealt with by this Committee and their decision shall be final.

3.

An AGM will be held once a year at which members of the Executive Committee and each Club shall have one vote.

4.

The entry fee shall be agreed at each AGM and shall be paid before the commencement of the season.

5.

Each team entry to consist of 2 triples. All players shall be paid up members of their respective clubs. No player may play for more than one Club or Team during that Season. Names of all players must be entered on the Score Card and signed by both team captains.

6.

League entries must be given to the Secretary before or at the AGM with the names of the Club representatives.
Every effort should be made to comply, but under special circumstances the Secretary may accept late entries, up to 14 days after the AGM.

7.

All matches to be played under EBA Rules unless otherwise stated herein.
Matches to commence by 6:15pm.
Captains to toss for Jack. Result will apply to both rinks.

8.

All matches to be played on the fixed date.
Defaulting teams will forfeit to their opponents 2 Points + 20 Shots for each Triple not playing.

9.

The only exceptions to rule 8 are:-
(a) By mutual consent, teams, if they wish, may arrange for any match to be played at a date prior to the fixed date. Results to be forwarded on the fixed date.
(b) In the event of greens being unfit for play or inclement weather. Postponed matches should preferably be played before the next League date and certainly within 14 days. If the postponed match is towards the end of the season, then it must be played within a week of the end of the season.

10.

Each winning Triple - 2 Points                                                                         Drawn Triple – 1 Point
Each Team win: - 2 Points                                                                               Drawn Match – 1 Point
Total Points available at each match - 6 Points.

11.

If at the end of the season there is a tie on points then shot difference will count. In the event of the two or more teams being equal on points and shots, a play off will decide the winner. Two Triples on a nominated neutral green.

12.

Result cards must be forwarded as addressed, by Captains, at the conclusion of each match.
ALL MATCH RESULTS MUST BE PHONED IN ON THE SAME EVENING.

13.

Normally, at the end of the season, the bottom two teams in Division 1 and 2 shall be relegated, and the top two teams in Division 2 and 3 shall be promoted.

14.

If during the course of a match a player has to leave the green because of illness or other reasonable cause and it is agreed by both skips that he cannot continue, then his place shall be filled by a substitute from the same Club who shall play either lead or second. If no substitute is available then the score up to that point shall stand.
