Fellow Bowlers and Friends
Once again I would like to welcome you on behalf of the Tournament
Committee to the 71st "Royal Tunbridge Wells Men's Bowling Tournament"
Did you know that on the 5th June 1925, over tea after a match between
the Grove and Grosvenor, Cllr
T.C. Allen mentioned the possibility of a Six Day Tournament in the town
as in many other towns. This idea had been mooted 4 or 5 years earlier
in the local Advertiser. It took a further 4 years before it came
to fruition.
We are now in the fifth year in which "Drake & Fletcher have been our
major sponsor, we are greatly
indebted to them for their support and hope that it may continue.
Courier Newspapers have also sponsored us over many years and we thank
them very much for this.
This year the presentation of trophies will be performed by a well known
local bowler of some years
standing and is widely respected in the game.
We would like to wish all competitors, spectators, and helpers an
enjoyable week and hope for good
weather, good bowling, good company & your continued support.
